Our Airport Security and Operations Supervisor will lead the daily operations of The South Terminal. The South Terminal is a satellite airport terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and is owned and operated by a private company in partnership with the City of Austin. This Public-Private Partnership in airports is unique but is a growing operating structure at US airports.
Note: This position requires a Level 2 Security License, or the ability to obtain the license within three months of your Hire Date
You will the primary day-to-day representative of the airport terminal and its private
owner/operator when interfacing with stakeholder airlines, federal, state, and local government
agencies, the traveling public, and companies doing business with the South Terminal. You will also
ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the airport terminal through team member
mentorship and development, attention to detail, protectiveness, policy enforcement, open
communications, and professional accountability.
Leadership Responsibilities:
Lead by example and adhere to our Core Values of
Lead a team of 5-15 individuals of different disciplines, skills, and backgrounds.
The team consists of operations, airport security officials, facility maintenance, and facility
appearance team members. Administratively, you will produce daily/weekly assignments
for airline stakeholders, and daily assignments for operations team members, as well as
complete regular reports for account billing, cost allocation, team member performance,
operation metrics, and emergencies/incidents.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
The successful candidate will have experience in leadership, transportation, or facility
operations, and preferably aviation industry experience. The candidate needs to be
comfortable with making leadership decisions, taking proactive measures, mastered at
Microsoft Office Suite, and is well organized.
Ability to organize and perform multiple assignments in a high-stress environment.
Ability to interact, communicate and maintain relationships with clients, vendors,
customers, and all levels of management.
Proven ability to lead and manage the activities of a diverse workforce.
Skilled problem solver with leadership qualities.
Excellent communication, decision-maker, and management skills.
Must have a valid Driver's License to operate company vehicles
Must pass 10-yr. security background check and drug testing.
Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs – 70 lbs
Be able to stand for long periods of times
Assist in the training of New Hires, if applicable
Working Conditions:
The Terminal Operations Duty Manager is subject to environmental conditions such as weather
and temperature changes and moderate noise
