Operating from the Security Control Room, the role involves continuous oversight of CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and communication networks to ensure a timely and appropriate response to security, safety, and operational matters. The officer acts as a central point of coordination, assisting in the deployment of frontline staff, maintaining accurate incident records, and supporting communication between security teams, museum departments, contractors, and emergency services when required.
This position contributes directly to the protection of the Museum’s buildings, collections, and assets, while also helping to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and contractors. Through vigilance, professionalism, and effective communication, the Security Control Room Officer plays an essential part in ensuring the Museum always operates securely and efficiently. The role requires a high level of attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy operational environment.
