Security Officer


Location:
RAF Blenheim Crescent, HA4 7HB
Salary: Up to £44,268 depending on experience
Schedule: Permanent, full-time – 42 hours per week on an 8-week pattern including weekends and nights (2 day shifts 07:00–19:00, 2-night shifts 19:00–07:00, then 4 days off)

As a Security Officer in our Defence team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining safety and compliance at RAF Blenheim Crescent. You’ll support the USAF mission and ensure secure operations, making a positive impact on colleagues, visitors, and the wider community.


What you’ll do as a Security Office

You’ll be entrusted to:

  • Maintain a positive “Zero Harm” culture with open reporting of safety concerns
  • Deliver tasks efficiently and to high standards, following Serco values
  • Support the Shift Lead and Supervisor with staffing and operational duties
  • Ensure compliance with RAF Blenheim Crescent Control of Entry policy
  • Assist with searches of vehicles, visitors, and baggage when required
  • Escalate suspicious behaviours or risks promptly
  • Comply with Serco Management System and relevant regulations

  • You’ll be a great fit for this role if you have:
  • SC cleared or have no issues obtaining it.
  • A SIA Licence for manned guarding
  • Security experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain composure under pressure
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

This role requires Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, which involves verifying your identity, employment history, nationality, and criminal record to meet government security standards. In addition, depending on the nature of the role, you may need to obtain formal Security Clearance (such as CTC or SC), which includes more detailed background checks on employment, criminal record, and financial history to ensure suitability for working in secure environments. Please note that UK residency requirements may apply for certain levels of clearance. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire so we can identify and provide any support you may need to undertake the role effectively.
