Facility Security Officer (FSO)/Security Controller/Programme Security Officer (PSO).
Location(s): UK Sites/Hybrid – Portsmouth minimum 3 days every month plus travel to other locations on occasion / as required.
Summary of Role:
Raytheon UK (RUK) has a fantastic opportunity for a Professional and dedicated Programme Security Officer to join the Raytheon Selborne Programme, delivering training transformation for the Royal Navy as part of Team Fisher.
Raytheon UK’s role within Team Fisher is to deliver training design, transformation and training equipment support across the majority of the Royal Navy’s individual training courses and establishments.
Working at the heart of the programme, the Programme Security Officer will be critical to ensuring that RUK complies with the security related requirements of the programme. This will mean liaising with multiple stakeholders across the MOD, Royal Navy establishments and Team Fisher Partners.
The individual must be a sole UK national, hold or able to obtain a UK SC clearance. With the potential in the future to obtain a UK DV clearance. They should have experience working with classified material and be familiar with UK requirements for its handling and storage.
Main Duties:
- Day to day supervision, guidance and support involving all aspects of protective security relating to staff, information and assets.
- Ownership of the RUK Selborne Security Management Plan and associated procedures, ensuring they are adhered to and that associated risks are appropriately managed.
- Initial point of contact for security and security accreditation matters.
- Liaising with RUK teams and personnel, Team Fisher security personnel and MOD establishment security teams to respond to security requirements.
- Providing the primary response to, and investigating security incidents in a timely manner, ensuring that they are dealt with appropriately or escalated if necessary.
- Regular reporting and escalation of any risks to Programme, Function and Team Fisher.
- Providing Security awareness training, education, inductions and briefings.
- Security management of visitors and contractors.
- Auditing of security systems and data-protection compliance.
- Working with the Digital Technology team to ensure projects/company’s networks remain secure and compliant with legislative policies.
- Accountable to the contracting authority for the Security Aspects Letter (SAL) and managing the flow down of SAL requirements to third parties/subcontractors.
- Accountable for Defence Cyber Protection Partnership (DCPP) compliance.
- Accountable for the security requirements of all overseas travel to meet with HMG International Visits Control Office (IVCO) and Corporate requirements.
- Perform such other duties as the Head of Security may require.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience of working in a protective security role.
- High integrity, able to work with discretion and attention to detail.
- Proactive and capable of working without direct supervision.
- Team-oriented with interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Flexible and responsive. May need to be available outside normal office hours.
- The ability to write and maintain security policies and procedures updating with evolving project business needs and ensuring compliance with HMG Security Policy Framework.
- Strong stakeholder management skills at a senior level.
- Working knowledge of HMG Security Policy Framework, Information Assurance Standards and Good Practice Guides.
- Knowledge of the UK Defence Sector and it’s security requirements.
Desirable:
- Membership of DISA and other professional IA bodies
- Detailed understanding of HMG and OGD personnel vetting processes.
- Familiar with ISO 17799 & 27001 Security Frameworks.
- An understanding of the new Cabinet Office STAMP requirements.
