Pace supplies high quality and professional security officers to a wide variety of sectors including world-renowned educational institutes, high end residential, multi-million pound corporate offices as well as much more. Due to expansion, we are looking to recruit for a Security Supervisor for our award-winning team patrol team based at the South Bank. As Security Supervisor, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the South Bank Patrol team. As a key London landmark, the South Bank has a major footfall all year round, meaning no two days are the same. The team are required to deal with homelessness, illegal street trading, anti-social behaviour, alongside other tasks, whilst maintaining outstanding relationships with client stakeholders, local authorities, members of the public and being glowing ambassadors for the South Bank.

Shift Pattern: Average of 40 hours per week including late evenings, weekends and Bank Holiday’s due to the 365 days per year nature of the role.

Pay Rate: £32,000-£34,000 per annum depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision & Leadership: Oversee a team of security officers, ensuring high standards of performance, discipline, and professionalism.
  • Scheduling & Operations: Manage duty rosters, shift allocation, and ensure full site security coverage at all times.
  • Communication: To be the eyes and ears of the client on the ground with the ability to report back any issues in a timely fashion.
  • Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the main point of contact between Pace management, security team, clients, and stakeholders. Address concerns and ensure expectations are met.
  • Decision-Making: Confidently assess and respond to security situations, taking decisive action when necessary.
  • Incident Management: Handle security incidents, complete reports, and implement corrective measures as required.
  • Training & Compliance: Ensure security personnel are trained, briefed, and compliant with company policies and relevant regulations. This include CPD and appraisals.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct routine inspections to maintain security standards and identify potential risks.
  • Supervisory skills: Has previous, proven skills of supervising/managing a team successfully. This includes ad hoc security staff and the increase of security staff during Spring and Summer.
  • Partnerships and engagement: To maintain pre-existing relationships with joint partners in the area.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of supervisory/junior management experience within the security industry.
  • Flexible availability, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays if required.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to be discreet and diligent about maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
  • Must hold either a SIA SG or DS license.
  • Must be CSAS accredited or willing to and able to achieve CSAS accreditation.
  • Can adopt a solution focused approach to problems encountered.
  • Excellent observation, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • To be able to handle phone, email and face to face customer enquiries confidently, with a positive and polite attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Proficiency in MS packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook or equivalent.
