Network Rail High Speed Ltd. (NRHS) is responsible for operating and maintaining the UK’s only international high-speed railway (HS1) owned by London St. Pancras Highspeed.

The 109km London St. Pancras Highspeed infrastructure consists of a diverse range of railway assets such as the track, signalling, overhead line, lineside buildings, depots, viaducts and long tunnels. NRHS is also responsible for operating and maintaining three international stations; St Pancras, Stratford and Ebbsfleet International.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, NRHS is privately financed under an agreement with our client London St. Pancras Highspeed, undertaking a diverse range of activities from railway infrastructure maintenance and operations – through to station facilities management and retail on behalf of our client.

Brief Description


The role

We have an exciting opportunity within Network Rail High Speed for a Route Crime & Security Manager. This is for an 18 month fixed term contract.

You will act as the route focal point for internal and external stakeholders in relation to route crime, security and contingency preparedness of the route. Working in line with the regional strategy develop, promulgate and maintain route crime prevention, security and emergency plans and procedures in line with statutory requirements.

You will manage the route performance improvement process relating to route crime, including the production of robust and quantifiable performance improvement plans.

Please be aware this role holds a mandatory requirement for the incumbent to hold valid security vetting clearance. Any offer will be conditional on the successful candidate obtaining clearance prior to a start date being agreed.

About the role (External)


The person
Essential

  • Excellent negotiation skills and influencing
  • Educated to degree level or be able to show equivalent level of experience and competency
  • Detailed understanding of and proven credibility in operational security matters
  • Good understanding of the principles of contingency and emergency planning and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex data in a simple and understandable way

Desirable

  • Proven experience and expertise in major incident/crisis management at a tactical level
  • Good understanding of security issues as they affect Network Rail’s undertakings
  • Good understanding of railway operational requirements
  • Post-graduate qualification in emergency/disaster management, security (domestic or international) counter-terrorism, operational resilience or risk, or similar

The role is based at One Stratford Place, however frequent travel to our other office and site locations along the High Speed line is expected.

We follow a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range:

£46,701 – £55,411 plus inner London allowance of £3,270

Drugs and Alcohol Standard
