Security Manager

The Security Manager will work closely with the CSO on all security-related topics, including maintaining the organisation’s security certifications and enforcing security policies across the business.

The role also involves liaising with customers on security-related discussions, ensuring transparency and confidence in our security services.

This position is pivotal in leading the security team, managing incidents, and driving continuous improvement in security practices.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Mentoring

• Lead and inspire the security team, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
• Act as an escalation point for security-related issues.
• Always look for ways to enhance the team and skills using current tools

Service Quality & Compliance

• Ensure security services meet agreed SLAs and KPIs.
• Oversee adherence to incident response plans during security alerts or breaches.
• Support the CSO in maintaining organisational security certifications and compliance standards.

Customer Engagement

• Liaise with customers on security topics, addressing queries and providing assurance on security measures.

Team Development

• Drive continuous improvement in team skills and knowledge.
• Promote best practices and knowledge sharing within the team.

Incident Management

• Lead the response to security incidents, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with protocols.

Policy Enforcement

• Ensure security policies are effectively implemented and adhered to across the organisation.

Qualifications

Cyber Security Expertise:

• 3–5 years in a cyber security role with broad knowledge of best practices.
• Strong understanding of cyber threats and their impact on small to medium businesses (25–300 users).
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as CIS, and ability to apply them practically.

Technical Proficiency:

• Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR, SIEM, and cloud security tools.
• Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 / Azure security controls; experience with Google Workspace security is desirable.

Leadership Experience:

• Proven ability to lead and develop a small team or larger.
• Skilled in managing escalations and driving resolution under pressure.

Certifications (Preferred):

• CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable, but not required. We hire on aptitude and proven ability rather than certification status.

Percentage of internal compliance with security policies across departments.

Customer Engagement:

Positive feedback scores from customers on security-related interactions.

Team Development:

Improvement in team skill levels measured through training completion and performance reviews.

Service Quality:

SLA and KPI adherence for security services (e.g., uptime, alert handling).

Pay: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
