Security Guard – Part Time

We are seeking Part Time Weekend Security guards for some positions at data centres across the GTA. We are looking for individuals with a high level of customer service and security experience. Priority to those with a strong customer service background. This is mainly a sitting position with periods of standing during wand searches of client employees and contractors. The environment is quiet and isolated.

Position Overview:

Wages: $25.00/hr

Positions Available:

Richmond Hill (Leslie and Major Mackenzie):

PT Permanent 3:00PM-11:00PM Saturday and Sunday

Vaughan (Weston and Steeles):

PT Permanent 7:00AM-3:00PM Saturday and Sunday

PT Permanent 11:00PM-7:00AM Friday and Saturday

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties, verify visitors coming on-site.
• Screen client employees and contractors by asking questions and with handheld wand metal detection devices.
• De-escalate situations where individuals may decline screening, deny access to anyone that does so.
• Notify shift supervisor of any incidents after attempting to de-escalate for assistance.
• Be on call when a shift needs coverage sometimes on short notice if needed for OT.
• Be able to work within a campus environment, helping other close locations when needed.

Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
• Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
• 3 years of security experience or 5 years of customer service experience with direct customer facing experience.

Eligibility for reliability clearances required for data centre positions.
