Secret Clearance – Government Site Position ( Part-time/ Casual/On-Call) – Level 2 Secret Clearance

Salary:

• $20.00–$22.00 per hour (Pay starts ~$20/hour with options for increase based on performance over a contract term.)
• Secret Clearance – Level 2 REQUIRED . ( Please only apply for this position if you have Level 2 Secret Clearance, we have regular event security guard position available separately NOT HERE )

• Government Security Clearance – Level 2 Secret Clearance completed at the time of application – IMPORTANT: This is not a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC), this is a government clearance certification.

• Valid Emergency or Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification

We are looking for candidates in this role that are familiar with, and comfortable practicing the duties of care, and legal obligations security personnel carry in government clearance environments.

Special Event Operations (The famous "Red Shirt Team")

We supply security & emergency command staff for major festivals, fairs and events such as Ottawa Tulip Festival, RBC Bluesfest Music Festival, Panda Game, Dragon Boat Festival, Escapade Music Festival, TD Place Concerts, CityFolk Music Festival, Capital Pride, South Asian Festival, Richmond Fair, Carp Fair, Navan Fair, Rock on the River Music Festival, Canada day events, Rib & Poutine Fest and many more! Our famous red-shirt team is responsible for access control, site patrols, bar security, crowd control, and perimeter security.

Site Operations (The famous "Red Shirt Team")

TOERSA Security is proud to offer year-round, 24/7 site coverage for many sites across Ottawa. Ranging from government sites, construction sites, hotels, commercial entities, and many more. Site guards are often picked from exceptional standouts on our Special Events team or applicants to Secret Clearance positions!

Mobile Patrol (advancement opportunity)

Site security is not just confined to regular business hours. TOERSA understands that our clients need 24/7 solutions. As a result, we operate a 24/7 Mobile Patrol team dedicated to solving client issues, providing additional security services, and acting as an extension of the operational command of TOERSA outside of regular business hours. Mobile Patrol guards are usually selected through internal advancement opportunities or open-application processes.

Stage Team (The famous "Black Shirt Team")

Stage Security Guards are highly trained and experienced Security Guards that conduct crowd control operations, backstage & stage access control, and barricade security at music festivals and concerts. Stage Security guards are expected to ensure crowd hydration, limit risk of crowd-crush scenarios, monitor for safety issues in the crowd, and lifting patrons out of the crowd over stage barricades for medical or security purposes. The famous "Black Shirt Team" are well known in Ottawa and on social media for their professionalism, reactiveness, and safety-oriented mindset.

Supervisor Team (Grey Shirts) (advancement opportunity)

TOERSA Supervisors are usually selected through internal advancement opportunities. Supervisors with TOERSA are selected based on their leadership capabilities, knowledge and practice of the duties of care and legislative requirements surrounding the security industry, knowledge of supervisor responsibilities in a workplace, and their ability to assist guards in their duties. Supervisors at TOERSA receive a myriad of trainings, including mental health crisis intervention, supervisor workplace health and safety training, general supervisor trainings, suicide intervention, and other applicable trainings for their specific post.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Ontario Security Guard license (Required)
• Minimum 18 years of age (Required)
• Valid Secret Government Clearance (Level 2) (Required)
• Valid Emergency or Standard First Aid and CPR-C Certification (Required)
• Experience in customer service settings (Required)
• 2 years of relevant security experience (Preferred).
• Use of Force Certification (Preferred but not required)
• Drivers License – Class G ( Preferred )

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct site patrols in high profile and/or sensitive environments.
• Practice confidentiality with privileged information or any protected/classified information you come into contact with.
• Handle emergency situations and assist first responders.
• Conduct access control to protected facilities.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Report to Mobile Patrol Supervisor.
• Write reports and submit them in a timely manner.
