Retail Security Guard – Loss Prevention & Customer Safety

Horizonor Inc. is seeking professional, customer-focused Security Guards to support a high-traffic retail environment. This position goes beyond traditional guarding, it focuses on loss prevention, customer safety, and proactive incident management.

Guards will be responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment while actively identifying and preventing theft, disturbances, and safety concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct high-visibility patrols throughout the retail store and surrounding property
• Monitor for theft, suspicious activity, and policy violations
• Perform loss prevention duties including observation and reporting of shoplifting and fraud-related activity
• Provide professional customer service and assist customers when required
• De-escalate conflicts using strong communication and situational awareness
• Complete detailed digital incident reports including photos and documentation
• Liaise with store management and, when required, local law enforcement
• Maintain a strong security presence to deter criminal activity

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License (required)
• Use of Force / Defensive Tactics Training
• First Aid & CPR Certification
• Experience in retail, mall, or loss prevention security
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Customer service experience is considered a strong asset
• Previous retail or loss prevention experience is an asset
• Ability to write clear, detailed incident reports

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
