Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Loss Prevention Security Guard to join our team. This role is vital in safeguarding preventing theft and maintaining a secure environment for staff and customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in law enforcement or security.

Responsibilities

• Monitor premises through surveillance systems, including CCTV, to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility to ensure safety and security protocols are followed
• Observe customer and employee behavior for signs of theft or misconduct
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies according to established procedures
• Document incidents accurately and thoroughly in reports for future reference
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary during investigations or incidents
• Enforce company policies related to loss prevention and security measures
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter potential theft or misconduct

Experience

• Prior experience in law enforcement, private security, or loss prevention is highly preferred
• Knowledge of surveillance systems, CCTV operation, and monitoring techniques
• Strong understanding of loss prevention strategies and best practices
• Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and professional during high-pressure situations
• Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and effectively
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to company policies

Requirements

• Must reside in Ottawa
• Must be CPR certified
• Must be Use of Force certified
• Must be able to travel to assigned sites independently
