Security Supervisor
Position Summary
The Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the security team and ensuring the safety and security of the building, its occupants, and assets. This role requires a strong leader with excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. The Security Supervisor will work closely with the Property Manager, Concierge, and other departments to maintain a secure and welcoming environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership and Supervision:

Supervise and mentor security team members, providing guidance, training, and support.

Ensure team members understand and adhere to post orders, procedures, and policies

Champion Guardteck’s core values on site and ensure team members embody these core values.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Oversee scheduling and coverage to ensure adequate staffing levels.

Address performance issues and provide constructive feedback.

Enforce uniform and deportment standards.
Security Operations:

Conduct regular patrols of the property, identifying and reporting security risks and hazards.

Monitor CCTV systems, access control systems, and alarm systems.

Respond to incidents and emergencies, taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of all individuals.

Investigate security breaches and incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommendations.

Maintain accurate records of security activities, including incident reports, daily logs, and access control audits.

Enforce building rules and regulations.

Provide exceptional customer service to the client, building tenants, contractors, and visitors and ensure a high level of customer service from subordinate personnel.
Emergency Response:

Assume a lead role during emergencies, coordinating with emergency services and building personnel.

Ensure the safety and evacuation of occupants in accordance with emergency procedures.

Conduct regular drills and training to ensure team members are prepared for emergencies.
Administrative and Reporting:

Attend security meetings, reviewing reports and discussing security concerns.

Prepare and submit daily occurrence reports, incident reports, and other documentation.

Manage access card requests, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.

Conduct audits of security equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and properly maintained.

Review and approve security reports submitted by team members.

Collaborate with other departments to address security concerns and implement solutions.

Administer preventive maintenance and service requests related to security systems.

Other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in security management or a related field is an asset.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security supervisory role, preferably in a mixed used building environment.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid security guard license. First Aid and CPR certification.

Knowledge of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:

This position involves working Monday to Friday, 0800-1600.

The Security Supervisor may be required to work overtime as needed.

The work environment may involve exposure to potentially hazardous situations.
Physical Demands:

This position requires standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.

The Security Supervisor must be able to lift and carry moderate weight.
