Retail Security Guard – Calgary

Guardium Security Services (GSS) Ltd., part of the Guardium Group of Companies, is a growing Canadian security provider with operations across Alberta, Western Canada, and Ontario. Our Calgary team is expanding, and we are looking for reliable, professional Retail Security Guards for multiple retail stores across the city.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide visible security presence inside retail stores
• Prevent theft, deter suspicious activity, and support store management
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and complaints professionally
• Write clear and accurate incident reports
• Conduct regular patrols inside the store and surrounding areas
• Monitor safety hazards and report issues immediately
• De-escalate difficult situations using approved techniques
• Communicate with clients, staff, and law enforcement when required
• Represent Guardium professionally at all times

Required Qualifications

• Eligible to work in Canada
• MUST speak, read, and write English clearly
• MUST hold a valid Alberta Security Guard Licence
• Flexible availability — evenings, weekends, and some daytime shifts
• Minimum 1–2 years security experience (retail experience preferred)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Able to stand/walk for extended periods
• Professional, reliable, and punctual

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• First Aid Level C with CPR/AED
• NVCI or other de-escalation training
• Experience in retail loss prevention, asset protection, or high-customer-traffic environments
• Strong report writing skills

Shifts Available

• 8–12-hour shifts
• Evenings
• Weekends
• Monday–Sunday rotation depending on store needs
