What does a Controller Patroller Security Guard in Calgary do?

• Answer calls on the security landline phone, mobile phones, intercom and radio system

• Provide a high level of Customer Service to all customers, patrons and tenants

• Liaison with contractor security personnel and client regarding security activities, incidents, search programs, access control programs and overall safety

• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve potential issues by implementing proactive solutions

• Monitor systems and alarms including, but not limited to:

  • Security systems

  • Fire alarm systems

  • Closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras; and

  • 911 emergency dispatch

• Report security incidents and ensure all incidents have been accurately documents in the system and reported to the appropriate individual

• Report on patrols using the shift report template and the electronic tour application

• Participate in safety meetings

• Generate attendance reports in the event of an emergency condition

• Patrolling is required for this position

Qualifications to become a Controller Patroller Security Guard:

• Valid Alberta Security License
• Be eligible to work in Canada full time
• Strong computer and typing skills, proficient with Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem Solving Skills
• Experience with monitoring and operation of video and surveillance systems
• Available to work 4 on/ 4 off , 8 – 12 hour shifts
• Minimum 1 year Control room/Dispatcher experience
