Security Guard

Overview:

We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Security Guards at our nightclub.

**PLEASE note, we are only looking for those who can comfortably handle physical altercations and have worked in a nightclub/bar setting before. Preference will be given to those with 1-3 years experience minimum in this setting.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all guests are greeted warmly as they enter the property, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
• Monitor patrons throughout the venue, keeping track of capacity levels.
• Identify and safely escort individuals who are causing disturbances or are visibly intoxicated off the premises.
• Keep a vigilant eye on the floor to anticipate the needs of guests and fellow team members, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment.
• Communicate effectively with team members, providing support as needed during busy or challenging times.
• Respond quickly and calmly to any emergencies or security concerns, maintaining order and safety.
• Handle difficult situations with professionalism and tact, ensuring the safety and security of all guests and staff.

Requirements:

• Valid Alberta Security License (Pro-tect)
• Valid First Aid & CPR certification is an asset.
• Physically able to stand for long periods and handle physical tasks, including the removal of disruptive individuals.
• Proven experience in security roles, particularly in high-energy environments such as bars or nightclubs.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and react quickly and effectively to various situations.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests, team members, and law enforcement if necessary.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

Compensation:

• $20/hour base pay.
• Opportunities for additional compensation based on performance and responsibilities, plus house tip.

Terms & Expectations:

• After-hours correspondence may be required to ensure the security needs of the venue are met.
• This position requires availability on weekends and holidays, including late-night shifts that will go till 2:30-3:00am.
