Position Summary
The Security Shift Supervisor will play a vital role in
overseeing security operations during assigned shifts, ensuring the safety and
security of the premises, and leading a team of security personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement health and safety protocols to protect individuals,
properties, and information assets.
Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure quality assurance and quality
control at work sites.
Uphold the company’s brand promise by ensuring guards are well cared
for, well-led, and well-trained.
Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement among
security staff.
Support and encourage personal development initiatives for security team
members.
Supervise and monitor guards in the control center.
Supervise and coordinating security staff during assigned shifts.
Reviewing and proofreading reports for accuracy and completeness
Conduct interior and exterior patrols to maintain security.
Respond to and attend to incidents on site in a prompt and
professional manner.
Keep guards alert and awake during their shift to maintain vigilance
and readiness.
Ensuring compliance with security protocols and procedures
Handling any security-related issues that may arise during the
shift.
Coordinate with law enforcement or Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
when necessary.
Skills, Abilities & Educational Requirements:
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must possess a valid AB Security License
Must be fluent in the English language – written, verbal and reading
skills.
Must possess valid first aid or be willing to obtain it.
A Class 5 (Non-GDL) License and a clean driver’s abstract for
driving positions (Strong Asset)
Computer skills ability to learn technology devices (phones,
equipment)
Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor, and strong
interpersonal skills.
Have excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle
emergency situations in a calm manner.
Must be physically fit and able to stand, walk, sit for long periods
at a time.
Have exceptional attention to detail to fulfill duties and
responsibilities and incident report writing.
Willing to work a variety of shifts including over-nights and
weekends.
Former RCMP/Military experience and Military family member (Strong
Asset)
Education and/or background in Law Enforcement (Strong Asset)
Shift Schedule:
Sifts Vary in length and timings
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to prolonged periods of walking, sitting or standing.
May be employed indoors or outdoors in periods of inclement weather.
Climbing or descending stairs
