Position Summary
A Guard with the Law enforcement is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of individuals, properties, and premises with their jurisdiction. Guard may patrol designated areas, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and apprehend suspects as needed. Guard will collaborate with law enforcement, provide support during incidents, and assist in crime preventions effort. Guard will have specialized skills in handling security threats and emergency situations effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities: Patrol designated areas to deter criminals’ activities and ensure public safety. Respond to emergency calls, incidents and request for assistance promptly and effectively. Conduct thorough investigations into suspicious activities, accidents, or security breaches. Apprehend suspects and individuals involved in criminal activities in accordance with legal procedures. Assist in traffic control, crowed management, and event security to maintain order and safety. Collaboration with CPS officers and other law enforcement to support law enforcement efforts. Provide accurate and detailed reports of incidents, observations, and actions taken during shifts for documentation and legal purposes.
Skills, Abilities & Educational Requirements: Patrol designated areas to deter criminals’ activities and ensure public safety. Must be 18 years of age. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Must possess a valid AB Security License Must be fluent in the English language – written, verbal and reading skills. Must possess valid first aid or be willing to obtain it. Ability to obtain and maintain Enhanced Clearance as per site requirements. (3 years in Canada) Enthusiastic and self-motivated with strong organizational, time management and priority setting skills. Strong computer skills ability to learn technology devices (phones, equipment) Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills. Have excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner. Physically fit with ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Have exceptional attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing. Former RCMP/Military experience and Military family member (Strong Asset) Education and/or background in Law Enforcement (Strong Asset)
Working Conditions Work 12-hour shifts. May be exposed to prolonged periods of walking, sitting, or standing. May be employed indoors or outdoors in periods of inclement weather. Climbing or descending stairs
