RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
o Providing leadership for the security department while on duty.
o Ensuring that all department staff are operating within the company’s core values and carrying out their duties in accordance with the service standards policy while on duty.
o Ensuring that the department operates in compliance with AGLC Terms and Conditions while on duty.
o Implementation of departmental policies.
o Monitoring the performance of department staff while on duty.
o Informing the security manager of incidents and discrepancies.
o Recommending coaching or discipline of department staff on duty to the security manager.
o Implementing emergency procedures in the absence of the security manager.
o Responding to all serious incidents while on duty.
o Responding to requests from department staff while on duty.
o Responding to requests from other departments within the casino while on duty.
o Facilitating access to secure areas and vaults while on duty.
o Ensuring all duties are carried out by department staff according to procedures and in a timely manner while on duty.
o Notifying the security manager if there is not an adequate supply of uniforms and equipment.
o May be delegated additional tasks by the security manager.
o The security supervisor reports to the security manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
o Minimum of 3 years customer/public service experience.
o Minimum of 2 years security experience (casino environment preferred).
o Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
o Must be able to complete all regulatory requirements prior to commencing work.
o Police information check (no older than 90 days)

o Pro-Serve
o Anti-money laundering training
o AGLC Deal-Us In
o Must have current First Aid/CPR C/AED certificate or obtain within 90 days of employment.
o Alberta Security License is an asset.
o Post-Secondary Education in Criminal Justice, Psychology, Sociology or related fields is an asset.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
o Must be 18 years or older to work in a casino.
o Excellent written and oral communication skills.
o Demonstrated leadership abilities.
o Prior training in de-escalation and conflict resolution is an asset.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
o Must be able to lift 25kg (approx. 50lbs).
o Ability to restrain violent individuals and be involved in physical conflicts.
o Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
o Ability to respond quickly to urgent and emergency situations.
o Ability to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
