Job Overview:
The Security Supervisor will act as a working Shift Supervisor and carry out shift supervisory duties as well as functions in support of the Security Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reports to the Manager any matters of the Casino’s interests and supply all pertinent shift reports.
- Ensures that the Security Department’s ‘Policies and Procedures’ and AGLC ‘Terms and Conditions’ are adhered to by all security staff.
- Works with Surveillance to ensure all Casino staff are adhering to AGLC terms and conditions.
- Trains staff in the performance of their duties.
- Liaises with all departments to ensure a smooth operation and directing staff to assist where needed.
- Conducts Volunteer Cage and Count Room closing procedures.
- Responsible for all SE Sign-Ups. This is a Dual responsibility as well and the supervisor oversee it or do it themselves.
- Be present for the Volunteer Cage vault cash transfer.
- Be present for all terminal cassette access by Slots staff.
- Closes cash and coin count with Slots Supervisor.
- Opens cash and coin count, and other opening activities, with Slots Supervisor.
- Completes NRT cassette fills.
- Card pick-ups and delivery from and to pits.
- Completes Chips Runs to tables.
- Stores cards as per AGLC requirements.
- Completes card month-end inventory, drilling, and shredding.
- Checks the electronic keypress to ensure all keys are returned at the end of the night.
- Conducts all functions requiring the ‘dual’ presence of authorized Slots personnel and Security (i.e. Vault access, ‘stacker box ‘key withdrawal and retrieval, TRK access, etc.).
- Takes the lead in all security and medical incidents. By performing the task or leading your staff to the completion of the events’ investigation and documentation.
- Monitors the building and property for problems. Report all maintenance and inspection matters as required.
- Greets guests at front door and provide Customer Service.
- Performs and documents all Health and Safety sweeps. For all issues found, removes, replaces, and or reports them.
- Problem solves all matters not listed above and request assistance when needed.
- Acts as the SE Administrator for the Casino in the absence of the Security Manager.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- 2-5 years of security experience.
- AGLC Gaming Registration Number
- Clear Criminal Record Check

- AGLC Deal Us In Phase 1 and 2
- Anti-money Laundering
- Standard Level First Aid Level C with AED
- Alberta Security License considered is considered an asset
- Security Services and Investigators License is considered an asset
Job Requirements:
- Ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including graveyards, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on operational needs.
- Knowledge of AGLC Terms & Conditions and Operating Guidelines.
- Knowledge and ability to clearly explain operating house rules to guests and employees.
- Ability to respond quickly to urgent situations.
- Computer literate with intermediate functionality in Microsoft Office software.
- Organizational abilities and strong time management skills.
- Creative ability to foster new and better ways to perform and succeed.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Walk/stand/sit – Must be able to walk/stand/sit throughout much of the shift throughout all outlets of the Casino.
- Talk/hear – must be able to detect, determine, identify, observe, inspect, and assess. This positions frequently communicates with guests and employees throughout the entirety of the shift. Must be able to exchange accurate information and professionalism in these situations.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Works in an indoor, fast-paced environment.
