Position Overview

Screening Equipment Operator at the World Trade Center (WTC) would be responsible for inspecting vehicles entering to ensure compliance with security regulations and protocols. This would involve using a combination of mechanical and manual screening processes, likely including x-ray technology and visual inspections. The screener would also be responsible for identifying and responding to potential threats, including suspicious objects or vehicles. This is a 24/7 operation, requiring commitment to high standards of vigilance and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:

• Using X-ray machine and other screening equipment to identify potential hazards or prohibited items
• Operating X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security equipment to screen vehicles
• Detecting and responding to potential security breaches, including suspicious behavior or objects

Requirements:

• MUST HAVE- A valid unexpired Guard Security License issued by the State of New York
• Able to obtain SWAC credentials
• Able to pass a physical exam/drug screen and a background investigation
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must possess a High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Experience:

• • Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Write clearly and concisely using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
• Write organized, complete, accurate and factual reports.
• • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with drivers, other personnel, and potential suspects.

Physical Demands:

• • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
